A traditional kawamuki paring knife.
This double bevel blade has been forged from shirogami yasukiko steel for an excellent edge that is easy to sharpen.
The purpose of its rustic kurouchi forge aesthetics is to impede oxydation of the body of the blade.
Its rounded shape gives it a good grip for peeling fruit and vegetables.
The handle is in Japanese cypress, renowned for its resistance to humidity, and it is topped with a ring made from buffalo horn.
This kawamuki has been made in the pure uchi-hamono tradition of Sakai.
