A deba is a traditional blade, thick and heavy, with a single bevel used for cutting fish. It allows the chef to cut off the head and separate the flesh from the backbone with a single, clean, precise stroke. It is also used for effortless chopping thanks to its weight.
The VG1 steel from Takefu that has been used is a stainless steel with a high carbon content to increase hardness and durability.
The handle is made from Pakkawood.
